How many wedding invitations do we need?+
Count households rather than guests: one invitation per couple or family, not one per person. For 120 guests that is usually 60 to 80 invitations. Most couples add around ten spares for late additions and keepsakes, as a short reprint costs more than ordering them at the start.
When should wedding invitations be sent?+
Six to eight weeks before the wedding is the usual timing, which gives guests room to reply before final numbers are due. Nearer three months is common where people are travelling, booking time off or attending a destination wedding.
What should be included with a wedding invitation?+
The invitation itself and an RSVP card are the two essentials. Travel, parking and accommodation are most often covered on a wedding website these days, with the address set small on the invitation or the reply card — which keeps the suite to two pieces and the postage down.
Do we need to order wedding invitations and save the dates together?+
They are usually ordered separately, because save the dates go out six to twelve months ahead and invitations follow much later. Ordering the invitation from the same design keeps the two matching without needing to buy them at the same time.
What paper is normally used for wedding invitations?+
Heavier weights are the norm, because an invitation is handled and often kept. Smooth papers suit fine typefaces and detailed designs; textured stocks such as the felt marking on Nettuno Bianco or the watercolour tooth of Acquerello suit a softer, more traditional look. Our Signature, Luxury and Eco ranges group the stocks by how they feel, so start there.
Can we upload our own wedding invitation design?+
Yes. Finished artwork can be uploaded and printed as supplied, and every file is checked for size, resolution and bleed before printing. Designs can also be created from scratch in the Design Studio if artwork is not ready.
